We just had our annual winter recital last weekend. This time I sewed myself two new costumes!
Kevin, Beth, and Emma were kind enough to show up to our dress rehearsal to take some video for me. I have several videos of past performances and I use them to see where I'm in need of improvement, but thanks to Kevin's camera skills this one's good enough to share! Keep in mind that this is intermediate level dancing. It's not meant to be an example of great flamenco dancing (for those of you "aficionados" who find my blog through an internet search and want to make a snarky comment about the quality of the dancing). But for my family and friends who want to see what I'm up to, have at it.
Oh, and Kevin IS allowed to make snarky comments. That's part of our arrangement.

Justin Timberlake called. He wants his sexy back.
I knew I could count on you Kevin!
Jen,
That was AWESOME! You have gotten sooo much better! I think you were on top of the routine more than any of the other girls in the video. I love it and we miss you guys!
I agree with Mik. That was great! I see a maturity to your dancing, not just in terms of your ability, but in terms of the sense of presence you give to it that is not present in the others. I like the costume, too. Thanks for sharing this because I was so sad to have missed the live performance.
Love,

Awww, thanks everyone. Considering that I am twice as old and nearly twice as tall as everyone else out there it's easy to get insecure. And I know that Kevin just teases me cuz he loves me in his own Kevinly way.
OMG, Kevin needs to just take his sexy and go home!
Jenny, you are phenomenal! And don't you dare say anything about your height—blah, blah. Just because you're surrounded by short people doesn't take a thing away from your own incredible statuesque beauty. And I say this as a short person in awe of you.
You were awesome!
Happy Holidays!
Hi Jenny,
I saw you at last year's L&L (2006), but didn't meet you. You are a beautiful dancer.
I am tagging you, click here for details.
Keeping in mind that I comprehend rhythm about as well as a pregnant teenager, I too have noticed Jenny's progress. I thought she was great when I first saw her perform at the 2006 Live and Learn conference, and at this last performance, she danced fluidly, as if she wasn't even thinking about it.
But, as a holder of the snarky card, am I the only one who gets images of Gulliver or Shrek dancing with circus midgets? Jenny is the tallest flamenco dancer in the history of world! Woohoo!
And I've been this tall since I was in middle school! Imagine what that was like, keeping in mind that boys tend to sprout later than girls anyway. I purposely avoided dancing for years and years because of my height but finally I got over myself and just went for it.
Oh, and as if you could talk, Torso Man! Pot kettle black, dare I say?
You are so graceful and gorgeous and easy to spot in a crowded room and only 1 ticket longer than me in arm span. I love watching you dance and the sound.
I wrote a thank you blogpost with pictures to thank you and Beth for the Green Chile you hauled with you from Albuquerque for us. I thought you might enjoy reading it.
Thank you again.

P.S. I LOVED Kevin's, uh, alternative soundtrack to your dancing. Hot. Veeery hot. ♥
I saw your house and farm in Su Casa. You are really an amazing family. We have a small farm but nothing like yours - maybe somebody. Would it be possible for you to share your chicken coop plans? That's our next project this spring. You can reach me at

Thank you
